Thanks to my friends Allison and Janine’s postings on Facebook, I now have this video response to Stephen Harper’s comments of last week.

I’m not clear on how these statements by Stephen Harper are even possible (especially considering the fact that Stephen Harper, on behalf of Canada, apologized to former students of residential schools just last year) but apparently Canada has “no history of colonialism.”

Globe and Mail columnist Margaret Wente had this to say in yesterday’s paper.

Classes start Tuesday at the university where I work.  The preparation of my courses is mostly complete  but I’m working over the long weekend to get some writing out of the way.  I still found time to read the online New York Times this morning and came across this opinion piece -  “Don’t Alienate Your Professor.”
